Espisode 1: Battle Of The Sexes
Summary:
Last time we saw Diddy, he was announcing that Qwanell, Brian, Robert, Willie and Mike had made the band, and he surprised everyone by offering Donnie a solo contract with Bad Boy. So what happens when the guys are reunited in New York City for season 2 of Making the Band 4? Well, Diddy's expecting them to record a couple of great debut albums. But there's a catch -- they'll be joined by platinum-selling pop group Danity Kane. They just don't know it yet...
When the band meets up at the airport and heads to the hotel, they're ready to set their dreams in motion. At the same time, as Donnie makes his way through the streets of NYC on his way to the hotel, he's approached by several fans who want a picture with him. Once everyone gets to their destination, the guys are happy to be reunited.
Meanwhile, Danity Kane's Aubrey, Aundrea, D. Woods, Dawn and Shannon check into their hotel, talking about what a whirlwind it's been since they won Making the Band 3, scored a #1 album and embarked on a world tour. Now they're ready to work on their sophomore album and show the world that they have staying power.
Diddy wastes no time getting the ball rolling by calling everyone into a meeting at the Bad Boy headquarters, which is where the guys and girls meet for the first time. In the waiting room, Danity Kane's Aubrey tries to start a conversation with the guys but they seem to have nothing to say. When she turns her attention to Donnie, it's clear that she's got her eye on him.
Diddy calls in Qwanell, Brian, Robert, Willie, Michael and Donnie to tell them his daunting expectations for season 2 of Making the Band 4: He wants them to complete their albums in just five weeks, knowing that an album typically takes more than a year to complete.
After Diddy's meeting with Danity Kane, where he tells them he also expects their album to be completed in five weeks, Aubrey is held back for a discussion with Diddy about her bad girl image and how she might be holding back the group. He tells her that he's not going to let her mess with his money and he wants her to step up and be a leader instead of being a troublemaker.
Hoping to get to know each other better, the guys and girls jump in a limo for a night out at on the town. The drive is filled with awkward silence, but once at the club, everyone starts to loosen up. After a round of shots, Aubrey and Donnie start dirty dancing and Dawn and Qwanell get flirty. Stay focused, guys!
The next day brings all the Making the Band 4 participants back together for the first day of recording. The girls nail a song called "Is Anybody Listening," proving that they already have a winning formula in place. At the same time, Donnie attempts to come out of his shell while recording "I Don't Care," which he describes as being "cheesy in the best possible way." At first, Donnie seems to be holding back but he quickly gets comfortable and hits all the right notes. Meanwhile, the band is recording "Co-Star," and the pressure is on when Diddy unexpectedly pops in while Brian is at the mic. While the guys think his singing is hot, Diddy refers to it as "screaming" and says he's not feeling it. Diddy tells them they need to get it together -- fast!
